The Week in Review

Hey, long time, no see! My brother pointed out that I've been very much the absentee blogger this week, and I'm super sorry. Life's been full of little adventures this week, especially since Wednesday, so here's what's new:

Wednesday:

Finally got my hair cut, yay!
And these lovely little sign of fall found its way into the kitchen:

And I managed to snap one up after church.

Thursday:

Awkward moment third-wheeling for a study group led to this in Spanish:

Because like any fourth-grader, I go a little crazy when I get an expo marker.

Plus, I think I got to see the first local reaches of Isaac out my car window. It was pleasantly dreary until this (Friday) afternoon, when it cleared up pretty suddenly after a little rain. Got to go to the gym for the first time in forever too. Score.

Friday:

Started off the morning listening to Eric the Great serenade me with his voice-rendition of the Great Gatsby. (Spoiler alert: In his mind, Jordan Baker has a severe lisp, Gatsby is ridiculously smooth and Nick is... overly-enthusiastic, to say the least.)

By the end of the day, however, I was enormously stressed out.
So, I came home and baked muffins.
Banana nut muffins.

And hot chocolate.

And had a couple of these things.

And all turned out okay again.
I've got relatives (including a toddler!) stopping in this weekend for the holiday, and so I'm sure plenty of adventures will ensue to report on.
Sad thing is that summer officially ends in only three days, and soon fall and all it's business will be upon me. I may not have much time to stop and sniff the roses this year, so I feel like I've got to make this weekend a real celebration.

How are you going to celebrate summer's official end? Let me know down below.

Happy Friday,
Riley
